Nāst Hill Workspace shortlisted for Gothenburg’s Best Building of the Year
The transformation of Nāst Hill Workspace in Torslanda is one of four finalists for the Per and Alma Olsson Award for Gothenburg’s Best Building of the Year.
Originally designed by Romaldo Giurgola as Volvo Cars’ headquarters, the building known as the Eagle’s Nest was a striking expression of its time. Wingårdhs’ interior architecture team worked with SHoP Architects for developer Steptura to adapt it for a more open and inclusive working life.
The transformation retains the materials and architectural qualities that give the original building its identity while making space for new ways to work and meet. The award has been presented in Gothenburg since 1965; this year’s ceremony takes place in December.
