Viared Center in Borås has received the inaugural SAPA Architectural Award.
Viared Center brings offices, services and shared spaces to a growing business district west of Borås. Its timber structure and glazed façade give the building a character that goes beyond what is usually expected of a commercial building.
The SAPA jury recognised the clarity of the architectural idea and the care carried through from the overall design to its details. Around 2,500 panes of glass form a rhythmic façade that brings daylight into the building and connects its interior with the surroundings.
